Description:
A three-storey residential building in the Moscow region has sunk by 80 mm in some places after the reconstruction of a room with a swimming pool. The Manager noticed that cracks were beginning to appear on the load-bearing walls both inside and outside the house. As a result of geotechnical monitoring, progressive sedimentation of foundations and supporting structures was detected.
Task:
The main task was to strengthen and re-level the three-story building without disturbing the residents. A secondary goal was to strengthen and lift the floor structures.
Decision:
Working with the geotechnical report received after the survey by the company's employees, GeoResin engineers applied GeoResin Deep Lifting and GeoResin Floor Lifting technologies using geopolymer expanding resins to restore the load-bearing capacity of the soil and foundation, as well as to re-level sagging floors. Ten external injection points were required. The second GeoResin technology re-leveled and re-reinforced the floor slabs. This was performed through 27 internal injection points.
Result:
All structures requiring the help were reinforced and lifted a predetermined level. The result was confirmed by subsequent Geomonitoring survey.
