In the spring of 2018, the company Ground Engineering, at the request of the client, conducted a comprehensive survey of a 2-storey residential building. As a result, significantly loosened layers of soil at the base of the foundations were found at various points below the ground surface.
While designing the project to strengthen low-weight soils, the company's engineers developed a project to strengthen the soil base and structures of cracked walls of the building, using spiral reinforcement. This decision was due to the fact that with a significant loosening of the soil and not even subsidence of the building, numerous cracks were formed on the walls with different degrees of disclosure. To effectively solve this problem, it was necessary to apply comprehensive measures, namely, carrying out repair and restoration work with both soil and load-bearing structures.
The project was successfully completed in the autumn of the same year, which allowed the customer to carry out further work on finishing the house. The company gives the warranty obligations for a period of 5 years. At the end of the year, a second geomonitoring was carried out, the results of which showed that the building had not undergone any changes in the past time - subsidence was stopped, and cracks in the walls were reinforced. Then the question is only in the cosmetic finishing of the building.
