In 2018, LLC Ground Engineering received an appeal that cracks appeared in the walls of a residential building and over time (for 2 years) the situation worsened, the cracks continued to open and increased in some places from 2 mm up-to 14 mm.
As a result of a comprehensive survey, the foundation soil layers were identified with reduced load-bearing capacity, which led to the development of uneven precipitation of the building.
The reason for the decrease in the load-bearing capacity of the foundation soil, with a high probability, could be a violation in or incorrectly installed drainage system.
This problem could be solved in the traditional way, by completely destroying part of the house and building it from scratch, but this procedure was too expensive (according to preliminary estimates from 1 800 000 rubles) and could take months, which of course was extremely undesirable.
Ground Engineering has developed a project case to strengthen the foundation soil in order to restore load-bearing capacity and lift part of the building by injecting GeoResin® geopolymer into the foundation soil.
During the repair and restoration work, the team of specialists successfully completed all the tasks. The cost of this project was significantly cheaper than the traditional method, and all the work was completed within one working day, which in turn, very pleased the customer.
In the end, after the global works to strengthen the soil and lift the building, it will only be necessary to carry out finishing repairs and continue to operate the restored structure.
